Non-profit organizations are the economic and community development that builds stronger communities, neighborhoods and economies. We believe that these non-profits have an important leverage point and cultivate vibrant communities by connecting people with skills, information, and services that are needed to make a living and a life.

Biography

Photo of Catholic Charities

As the social service agency of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, Catholic Charities West Virginia is chartered to launch and sustain programs that care for the people in each of its seven unique state-wide regions, with a special concern for the poor. Our mission is grounded in the Catholic social teaching and our programs are administered by professional staff, supported by volunteers, and guided by regional councils who live in the communities they serve. Our services are funded through a variety of sources, including The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, parishes, state contracts, United Way agencies, corporate and foundation grants and individual donors. Through our service delivery and collaboration with parishes and the larger community, and in accordance with our core values of dignity, justice, compassion, hope, charity, and quality, Catholic Charities West Virginia touches the lives of those we serve and those who join us in serving.
